			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>You have probably seen so many articles and books recommending hypnosis for treating anxiety and panic attacks. But I am sure a lot of people out there are just wondering well what happens when you go see a hypnotherapist. If your already in state of anxiety attacks the last thing you need is to be feeling anxious about going to see a hypnotherapist and doing hypnotherapy.</p>
<p>So speaking from experience I thought I would write my experiences so you have some idea what to expect if you decide that this is something for you.</p>
<p>The first thing is they ask you questions about what is going on with your life and what you are experiencing and what you would like to achieve by doing hypnosis. So they can get to know you better and you feel a little bit at ease, </p>
<p>Once that has been discussed they will usually explain what hypnotherapy is about and what is going to happen so you understand the process. Most practitioners have the same method and some have different methods but really hypnotherapy is all about getting you to relax..</p>
<p>So once the formalities are over you usually lay on a couch or suit in a comfortable recliner chair. They will get you to close your eyes and they will start guiding you to relax, by taking deep breaths and relaxing your body. Then once you start relaxing they will just keep getting you more and more relaxed. The first time is always the hardest but try and go with the flow here and just let go. It&#8217;s a great experience to let go when you have been so tense from anxiety and panic attacks.</p>
<p>Then once they can see you are relaxed they will start making suggestions in your mind about a way for you to get through this time. They may also get you do some visualizations&#8217; and put you in a place that feels nice to be there. Its all part of getting you to relax. All this usually lasts about 30mins or even longer but the first session is usually only about 30min long. </p>
<p>In the first session you may feel a bit uncomfortable and that&#8217;s ok because this is all new territory for you. But remember if you&#8217;re making the move to do something about getting rid of anxiety and panic attacks then that&#8217;s the most important thing here.</p>
<p>Now if your not comfortable about going and seeing someone for hypnotherapy then there a lot of CDs that you can buy and do it yourself in the comfort of your own home. But I feel that going to see a hypnotherapist at least once you will benefit a great deal  because then if you have questions they can be answered while you are there. Then you can could do it at home at your own leisure.</p>
<p>When I suffered anxiety and panic attacks and I was ready to get rid of them this is how it all started for me I started with doing hypnosis then went on to do it by myself at home everyday until they were gone.</p>

<p>Everyone suffers from some amount of anxiety in their lives.  You are not alone if you have anxiety, and there isn?t anything wrong with you.  Anxiety is a natural response to a stressful and hectic world.  Because for many people anxiety tends to get worse with age, finding some useful remedies for anxiety is better done sooner rather than later.</p>
<p> A good place to start is to talk to your doctor about your anxiety; he or she will be able help you determine what remedies for anxiety may be appropriate for you.   The first thing you?ll need to determine is whether you are suffering from normal amounts of anxiety, perhaps related to stressful situations in your life, or if you have an anxiety disorder.  People with anxiety disorders have excessive anxiety even when there is no good reason for it.</p>
<p>There are several successful remedies for anxiety that can go a long way in alleviating normal amounts of the condition.  First thing you should look into if you?re interested in remedies for anxiety is reducing your caffeine intake. Because caffeine is a stimulate it tends to make you?re your heart beat faster and make you feel anxious. Regular caffeine intake will go a long way towards mimicking an anxiety disorder.  So try and stay away from caffeine. </p>
<p>The other remedies for anxiety that may help are diet and exercise.  By diet, I don?t mean you have to go on a diet, but just watch what you?re eating.  Eating lots of sugars, fats, and unhealthy foods can increase anxiety. So start eating more fruit and vegitables. Far more important, however, is regular exercise.  Regular exercise has been proven to be particularly effective remedy for anxiety.</p>
<p>Anxiety disorders can really life uncomfortable for many people, and may require more serious treatments.  Fortunately, there are a range of very effective medications available today that can greatly improve the symptoms of an anxiety disorder.  These medications, combined with talk therapy, and the remedies for anxiety described above, form a powerful arsenal in fighting even severe forms of anxiety disorders.</p>

As one of the most widespread mental disorders out there, and with our ever-increasing understanding of it, anxiety is steadily becoming &#8216;the mental disease of the year&#8217;.  This is both good news and bad if you are looking for treatments.  There a lot of different medications available to help treat anxiety, but they are not without side effects.  Looking for some healthy and natural cures is the better way to go.</p>
<p>While anxiety is a &#8216;mental disorder&#8217;, everyone suffers from some amount of it, just as with depression.  Some people, due to an imbalance of neurotransmitters, may suffer from undue amounts of anxiety.  For everyone else, its just one of those things you have to deal with now and then.  Taking medications is an extreme response.  There are a number of natural cures you should try first, all of which have worked great for me.</p>
<p>Exercising is a great natural cure for anxiety.  Anything that gets your heart rate going and boosts your metabolism will work wonders for reducing anxiety and panic attacks. You always find that once you have done some exercise you notice how relaxed you feel. Our brain chemistry is &#8216;designed&#8217; with the assumption that we are going to be very active in our lives, as that is how we have evolved.  It is only recently that we have become mostly inactive and deskbound and our brain chemistry hasn&#8217;t caught up to this yet. Essentially, our bodies are still in &#8216;hunter and gatherer&#8217; mode, and sitting all day at a desk can cause some imbalances.  </p>
<p>Relaxation techniques are good natural cures for anxiety attacks. Meditation, listening to some calming music, reading a good book, getting enough sleep at night, and reducing caffeine intake will all help you to relax and therefore serve as safe, natural cure.  This last point especially, caffeine and other stimulants alone can cause huge amounts of anxiety for people.  When you cut back and eventually quit caffeine you immediately noticed an enormous reduction in your every day anxiety. You will find you don&#8217;t feel so anxious or jittery.</p>
<p>Aromatherapy oils are also great they have been around for centuries and are good natural cure for anxiety attacks. Aromatherapy oils are a way for your brain to react to the smells and when applied to your skin.  Each oil has its own purpose and also when mixed with other oils. Oils to use to help calm and relax you are lavender, you can just smell the oil and it is enough for your brain to react to it. Or you can mix with carrier oil like olive or almond and rub some on your temples or just on your body somewhere. You can also use an oil burner and put it in your bedroom or in a room you spend a lot of time.</p>
<p>Other essential oils known to help panic and anxiety attacks are helichrysum, frankincense, and marjoram. Smell each of them, and use what smells best to you, or you could use a combination of your favourite oils mixed in with carrier oil for your skin or put into an oil burner. You could also put a few drops in your bath, layback and listen to some music with a few candles going.</p>
<p>Try all sorts of methods and find what suits you is always the best solution, when we want to cure anxiety attacks, we are all different and we have to feel comfortable about what we are doing. Because the main aim here is for you to feel relaxed. Once you start relaxing you will find you have a lot less stress in your life. But really if you notice here it&#8217;s about you and paying some attention to you and how you feel and making yourself feel great again. Anxiety and panic attacks are exactly that! A way for your body to tell you hey slow down stop worrying and pay some attention to me. It&#8217;s like a big HELLO pay a bit of attention to me.</p>

<p>Well that?s your decision and if you?re now searching the internet for more information and then at least you have made a start with overcoming anxiety attacks.. Because you have said to yourself enough is enough its time for me to get myself together and create the life I want. And not allow life to just happen to me.</p>
<p>So where do you start by overcoming anxiety attacks?</p>
<p>?	Start by reading books and information on the causes of anxiety. How does this start happening to me, why did I get it. Find the answers to this question so you can resolve your own mind. Finding some tips for panic attacks and you will realize that so many people these days are suffering from panic anxiety attacks and you?re not alone.</p>
<p>?	Understand what happens to your body when you are having an anxiety attack. In understanding what happens physically to your body you realize you?re not going to die. And that?s an important thing to know, because when your having a full on anxiety attack you feel like your going to die. But by understanding what is really happening to your body, you know you are able to let it go and you start overcoming panic attacks. This is really important. By hanging on to a anxiety attack you panic and that only makes it worse. </p>
<p>?	Think about your life and in what areas are you unhappy have a good think about that and be honest with yourself. Take some time to go lay on your bed and have some really good quiet time and lay there and think about what is it you are worried about, think about it all. Is it your job, your partner, is it money, where you live etc </p>
<p>?	One of the best ways to solve a problem that worries you, think of the worst case scenario. We often think the worst when in fact it?s just an assumption in our own mind. So if you can handle that worst case scenario then hey what are you worried about?  Often when we face our fears life turns out a lot better then what we thought.</p>
<p>?	Find someone you can talk about this with and ask them to listen to you or you can find a counselor. There a lot of counseling services available that deal with treatment for depression and anxiety. Some of us are not good talkers and don?t like revealing ourselves to others and that?s ok. You will find that as you talk you become an observer of yourself and then realize the problems you have. Once you realize its ok because now you know where to start.</p>
<p>Once you find information and  have a lot more understanding about anxiety use the information and take action and start dealing with anxiety in your life. If you want to stop anxiety in your life the only person that can really do it is YOU!! By first making a firm decision that you are now going to control of anxiety and anxiety is not going to control you. Start taking control of your life right now!!</p>

Is there so much pressure on us these days that we have to conform to every one else in society that we have forgotten who we are as people and that we have forgotten what we want in our life. It seems life of today is just one big competition of keeping up with the ego.</p>
<p>The media of today are always throwing so many ads on TV on how you can get this great car, stereo, Plasma TV, house, house extension or just more money and buy what you want for this interest free period and how easy it is to get ourselves into more debt. Then there more stress and anxiety in our lives because of debt.</p>
<p>People of today have forgotten how to think for themselves, they spend so much time in front of the TV that they don&#8217;t have to think, it&#8217;s all put in front of them. There are so many subliminal messages coming from the TV. Go do a search on subliminal messages on the TV; you would be surprised on how you are being programmed. Do you want to be programmed?</p>
<p>How about giving up TV all together. I gave up TV 4 years ago now and don&#8217;t miss it at all. I gave up newspapers and radio. Now I don&#8217;t have the media portraying to me how I feel today I make the decision how I feel today. People ask me but how do you know what&#8217;s going in the world? If I really want to know I can look it up on the internet and I read the story for myself, you always know what&#8217;s going on around the world but you know what you want to know not what the media thinks you should know. </p>
<p>Yes we do have choices and options in this world and if we are in control of what is being fed to our brains then the less anxiety and stress we are going to have in our lives because we are taking control. Wouldn&#8217;t it be an interesting concept that if we had a no TV for a week campaign.</p>
<p>So what do you do instead of TV, how about some music, think about it, when one of your favorite songs come on the radio how do you feel, you feel great and you smile. Then there are other songs that can make you feel sad. So if music can do that to you what is TV doing to you. So for a week try playing all your favorite music every night for a week, play music that is relaxing while you unwind from work and eat your dinner don&rsquo;t watch the news.</p>
<p>Then after dinner you can play high vibration music and turn it up loud let the music vibrate through your body dance around the house and sing, the worst that can happen while you&#8217;re doing this is you will probably let go, let go of what? Well that&#8217;s it isn&#8217;t? Let go of all that doesn&#8217;t really matter anyway and you will feel good again and that&#8217;s what is important it&#8217;s about you not anyone else.</p>
<p>Learn to let go it&#8217;s the only way to go in getting rid of stress and anxiety in your life.</p>

We are already dealing with our everyday life and now here comes along this thing that makes you feel you are living your life in fear of another panic attack coming and at times its just feels to much.</p>
<p>So if you just want to do a few things in your life just to start  to deal with anxiety and panic attacks in your life here are some tips to do, so you can start feeling better about yourself.<br />
?	Admit to yourself you have anxiety and you get panic attacks, say it out loud to yourself and say its ok that I have this in my life I am going to deal with it. I am a strong person and its not going to get the better of me.</p>
<p>?	Spend time reading about anxiety and panic attacks gain knowledge. Once you understand the physical symptoms and what is happening to your body you will realise that you are not going to die from it. Its just feels like it! Its really amazing how our body works and when you realise that it becomes easier to understand what is exactly happening to us when we are having and anxiety attack.</p>
<p>?	Write down on paper what you don?t like about your life. What is bothering you, what are you worried about. Write it all down and then have a look at it, don?t judge yourself and look at the list and I am sure you will realise that the things that are bothering you are really not that big of an issue. My father had a great saying and to this day I still use it in my life, he use to always say ? if your going to panic organise it?  so really there is always a solution to the problem.</p>
<p>?	Stop worrying about what people think of you. Get a new attitude, does it really matter what people think of you. If people cannot accept you for who you are then they are not worth having in your life.</p>
<p>?	Do something each day you enjoy doing, make it a priority in your life, start putting yourself first and not everyone else. At the end of the day you are the most important person in your world and you deserve to be happy. So do some thing that makes you happy. Don?t worry about others, when they see you being happy then they will see you are in control of your life and will respect you more.</p>
<p>?	Let Go, just let go, don?t think about the past its already happened you can?t change it, so learn from it and move on. Don?t worry about the future it hasn?t happened yet, so what are you worrying about. Be happy now and be in the present because right here and right now there is nothing to worry about. A great book about being in the present is By Eckhart Tolle Being in the now. It?s a great book, will give you a whole new prospective on life.</p>
<p>?	Play music, music has a big effect on us. Notice how a song can bring back sad or happy memories and you will notice a reaction in your body. Ok so now if you put on some music that you enjoy its going to put in a happy mood or just relax you. Learning to relax is the biggest problem when you have anxiety or panic attacks, you really have to learn how to relax.<br />
Well there are just few things you can start doing in your life each day. So stop worrying and start doing. Start putting yourself first in your life, don?t worry about everything else that needs doing it will happen automatically. </p>

<p>Every year shops and businesses do a stock take of all their products and services and are able to define where there business is going and what profits they have made since their last stock take etc  Now we could all say yep ok what has that got to do with me and stress, but have you ever thought about doing that in your own life. Interesting isn?t, what if we were to take time two to three times a year and do our stock take on our own life.</p>
<p>But I think if we are going to sit and stock take in our lives then we are going to have to go at it with an open mind being honest with ourselves about own life. And with out allowing assumptions on what other people think of us. It has to be done in way that you are free to do as you wish. We can get so wrapped up in conforming to what is expected of us and from society that we forget about ourselves. We just keep going with the flow of life.</p>
<p>Well just maybe its time we should take time and do a stock on our life and think about all the things we want to do. How many times do you read a storey about someone that is dying or they are old and they are contemplating their lives and thinking about all the things they wished they had done in their life. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but only when you don?t wait till you?re dying and old and its all too late. If we were to do a stock take often then we would be living our lives to the fullest and when we are old we can look back and say hey I did everything I wanted, I achieved a lot and I had ago.</p>
<p>So how does this relate to stress in our life? Well if we were living our lives how we wanted and doing what we wanted to do in our lives then we wouldn?t have stress in our life. We would be living in a state of joy and happiness. </p>
<p>So take some time out of your life, away from your everyday life and the people. Take yourself away for a couple of days and sit under a tree and think about what it is you would like to do in your life. Don?t think about oh but what if this, but what if that, it?s not important and really just an excuse of why you?re not going to do it. Ask yourself if I did this or I did that how would I feel, and if you get that excited rush through the body then there is your answer it means go and do it. </p>
<p>So if you want to make some changes in your life and feel hesitant to do it then let me tell you something from experience. Often when we want to make a huge change in our life we hesitate because we are not sure what?s on the other side or how everything will work out. But as soon as you make the decision and you take the leap you don?t look back and everything just changes for the better and you have a whole new world right there before you and you think to yourself why didn?t I do this sooner. So don?t worry about it just do it and it all works out like you never expected. </p>
<p>On a side note here writing this article it reminds of the story in the Movie Pretty Woman. Yes I know it was like a love story but if you look at the guys side this is what he did, he made changes in a whole new direction in his life. This movie is a great example of what I am talking about.</p>
<p>So start doing a stock take on your life now, and start taking action and doing what you want to do in your life, don?t wait till your dying or you?re old. Just Do It Now.</p>

All I knew was that I feared having another one and so the cycle began that all I feared was having an anxiety attack then because of that fear it brings another on. So I was living my life like this until one day I was reading in the newspaper about anxiety and panic attacks. They had a list of all the symptoms, I was shocked to realize that the list was exactly what was happening to me and that I could finally put a name to it.</p>
<p>So I have complied a list for you that you go through and see if you are having any of these symptoms then it would be a sign that you are having panic attack or anxiety attack.</p>
<p>o	Palpitations<br />
o	A pounding heart, or an accelerated heart rate<br />
o	Sweating of the hands or just sweating<br />
o	Trembling or shaking<br />
o	Shortness of breath<br />
o	A choking sensation<br />
o	Chest pain or discomfort<br />
o	Nausea or stomach cramps<br />
o	De-realization (a feeling of unreality)<br />
o	Fear of losing control or going crazy<br />
o	Fear of dying<br />
o	Numbness or a tingling sensation in your face and limbs<br />
o	Chills or hot flashes<br />
o	Feel like wanting to just run, but don&#8217;t know where<br />
o	Feel you have to get out of the room your in or the car<br />
o	Muscular tension and body aches<br />
o	 Dizziness and headaches<br />
o	Excessive worry and increasing tension<br />
o	Inability to concentrate<br />
o	Overall tiredness and exhaustion<br />
o	 Fear of the situations linked to their bouts of anxiety and avoidance of       such situations<br />
o	Just want to go to bed and sleep and escape the world</p>
<p>There are more symptoms but these are the more common ones.<br />
Ok so now if you are having some of these symptoms and you feel that this is what is happening to you, where do you start? </p>
<p>When I found out that I had anxiety and panic attacks I found out more information and gained knowledge on what was happening to my body and what was causing all this happen. When I understood exactly what was happening in my body as I was having an anxiety and panic attack I felt more at ease to realize I was not going to die.  I found out that the worst problem is that when you are suffering from anxiety, is that the body tends to tense up and you stay like that, like holding on because you feel if you let go you may fall off a cliff or something you don&#8217;t know but you just feel something may happen if you let go.<br />
So I found out that by learning to do hypnosis that it&#8217;s a way for you to learn to let go, after doing a few sessions with a practitioner.  I was then able to do it myself at home. I made sure that each day I spent only half hour doing the self hypnosis. I found that when I missed a day the next day I had a bad day. So by being consistent with doing the self hypnosis I was coping and each day got better and better. But the one thing really is that hypnosis is really just learning to relax your body and let go.</p>
<p>I would like to ad a side note here. When I first went to see this practioner the first thing he wanted me to do was go on a medication for anxiety and panic attacks, I refused. Because I felt that if I have deal with anxiety and the medication made me feel better I didn&#8217;t want to then feel if I stopped taking the medication that it bring back the anxiety and panic attacks in my life. I had made a decision that I was going to do this without medication. Then I would feel sure that once I got myself through this it was me that did it not the medication. </p>
<p>Because it was quite a few years ago that all this happened to me there was not a lot of help around for anxiety and panic attacks. Where as this day and age there is so much more. Its just not hypnosis anymore there are so many other resources you can get help from including books, meditation, Emotional Freedom Technique ( which is something I would recommend) subliminal CDs etc. Do some research around the internet and gain knowledge and understanding of what is happening to you, and when you have armed and prepared yourself with knowledge you have made the first step to recovery Congratulations!.</p>
